Happy Feet Pictures

Here are some more of my favorite pictures from our Happy Feet trip.

I met this little girl the second day.  Matt & I were playing soccer with some of the kids.  At the end of the soccer game she came up to me and started talking to me in Spanish.  I couldn't tell what she was saying, so I decided to just pick her up.  She just wanted attention, to be held and loved on.

Here are some of the kids feet as they waited in line.

This girl played football with Matt and some of the other kids.  She had the best hands, and could throw a perfect spiral back to Matt.

Some of the ladies who traveled with us brought face paint for the kids.  They did a great job and the kids loved it!

Sophia

On our way back to the resort after visiting the second village we passed a house where we saw a little girl in a wheel chair.  We were in the van with Happy Feet founder, Bill Conlee.  He immediately told the driver to stop.  He had us grab different size shoes as we unloaded to go visit the girl.

We visited with Sophia, her sister and her mom.  Sophia has three sisters - two were able to come in and get their feet washed by us.  However, Sophia and another sister were not able to come.  We are not sure why they didn't come, but we were able to give them both shoes.  Her sister was so excited she immediately ran to clean her feet to try on her new shoes.

Sophia was so excited that we had stopped to visit with her and that she was able to get new shoes.  We told her that she was a princess, she promptly replied that she was not a princess.  We got her fit with shoes and then prayed for her and her family.

It was such a special experience, I am so glad we got to meet Sophia and her family.

Here is Sophia with her mom, and two of her sisters.
The sister next to the mom is the one who we were able to give her shoes also.
