Back to San Fan

Our last day we drove had breakfast at the deli in the Square and then headed back to San Fran.  We stopped to get some pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge on our way to the airport.

We had a much needed relaxing vacation - can't wait to go back!

Sonoma - Day Three

We had another full day of vineyards and wine.  We started the day at Ledson Winery.
It was a gorgeous house/castle.

Then we went stopped by Chateau St Jean - this was another one of our favorites.  The grounds were beautiful and had many different sitting areas.

They have a deli bar where you can get sandwiches or
cheeses and enjoy a bottle of wine on the property.

They also had some games...

It was a perfect day for the jeep!

Next stop was  Benzinger...

We also did a tour here and got to explore the wine caves.

We finished the day on the patio at the HopMonk Tavern

Sonoma - Day One

We started off the morning at a local vineyard and winery - Larson Family Winery

They had gorgeous grounds that you could go and walk around

They also had picnic tables and games.  Next time we come back we will bring a lunch with us and hang out here a little longer :)

We grabbed lunch from a deli on the square and ate in the park before heading to the next winery.

Our next stop was Sebastiani...this was one of the more well known wineries we visited during our stay.

We decided to take a tour while we were there and got to see where the grapes were processed.

Our final stop for the day was at Gunlach Bundschu.  Also recommend stopping by here if you are ever in the area.

They had beautiful grounds where you could walk around and enjoy your wine.

San Fran to Sonoma

The second part of our trip we spent in the wine country.  We took our time driving from San Francisco to Sonoma - we had lunch in Salsalito then took Highway 1 for a couple of hours and then cut across.

It was a foggy morning when we left the city.

We stayed at a cute boutique hotel in Sonoma the MacArthur Place

Happy hour on our balcony

We had dinner on the square at Mary's Pizza Shack - it was great pizza and a quiet atmosphere on the patio.

San Francisco

Matt and I took a long weekend over Labor Day to explore San Francisco and Sonoma.  We had such a great time.  Below is a recap of our time in San Fran!

The first two nights were spent in San Francisco - we stayed at the Westin St. Francis right by Union Square.  We got lucky enough to get an upgraded room which overlooked the square!

We arrived late afternoon to San Francisco so we decided to explore the Square and all the great shops nearby.  Then we met up with a good friend who was in town for a conference to grab dinner in Chinatown - we went to a great little restaurant.  I talked the guys into getting the Peking Duck - which I got to try on my recent trip to Beijing (luckily here, they cut the meat off before serving it to the table).

We began the next day with a bike tour of San Francisco with Streets of San Fransisco Bike Tour.  The tour started at Alamo Square which is home to the famous view of San Francisco from Full House.

We had a great time on the tour and highly recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting San Fran!  Our last night in San Fran we spent it down at Fisherman's Wharf and took a night tour of Alcatrez.

We finished the night with a chocolate sundae from the original Ghirandelli
and a trolley ride back to the hotel.
